Very Victorian

Very Victorian

Unlike their historical ancestors, the Victorian influences showing up for Fall are anything but prim and proper.  Delicate peak-a-boo lace and well placed cutouts add an element of edge while remaining feminine and sophisticated.  Cool color combinations - hello black and navy - and slim silhouettes are key for this timeless trend.

From L to R: Rag & Bone "Moto" crossbody, Shay Jewelry 18k white gold and diamond choker, Derek Lam 10 Crosby lace panel top, Frame Denim "Blairestone" crop flare and Peserico crop pea coat with fox fur trim.

Pair your silk tops with sophisticated denim and add luxe accents of fur, metallics and leather for city ready look.  And of course don't forget a red lip and your favorite suede booties.

Red, Red, Wine

Red, Red, Wine

Call it what you will - bordeaux, plum, shiraz, garnet, wine - but deep, rich burgundy red is THE color of the fall season.  Midnight blue may have given it a run for it's money, but bordeaux is the clear winner here and it's reign will definitely continue into the holidays.

It's an easy color to incorporate into your closet and works well for both day and evening.  We've put together a bordeaux heavy look that's super bold yet still easy to wear.

From L to R: Grisal scarf, Rag & Bone Range fedora, Vince Signature V shoulder bag, Rag & Bone Petra pullover, James Jeans Penney cord and Stutterheim Stockholm raincoat

When wearing more than one piece in this hue, keep your silhouettes clean and your accessories neutral so the color can shine.

Rebel Chic

Rebel Chic

It's a little bit punk, a little bit retro, a little bit menswear, a little bit glam, it's Rebel Chic. Channel your inner Teddy boy (or girl) and mix your favorite menswear inspired pieces with leather or fur accents and, of course, a red lip for the edgiest style of the season.

From L to R: Hartford France Versus Faux Fur Vest, Rag & Bone Ellen Double Layer Turtleneck, Theory Flannel Treeca Pant, Max Mara Marte Check Scarf, Samira 13 Pearl and Chain Bracelets, Rag & Bone Bradbury Mini Chain Cross-Body

We've put an unexpected twist on the trend by replacing black fur and leather with, the color of the season, midnight blue.  It takes the look to a  more sophisticated and elegant place while keeping the necessary edge.  If the tailored trousers aren't fulfilling your rocker needs, trade them out for a slick leather pencil skirt or stretch leather legging.  Pair this outfit with your favorite brogues for day or a sky high pump for evening.

When putting together your own version of the Rebel Chic trend, just ask yourself "What would Kate Moss wear?"

Prep School Cool

Prep School Cool

Fall fashion brings to mind cozy sweaters, luxe layers and preppy accents.  We've taken the classic Ivy League look and turned it on it's head; it's totally cool and not at all conservative.

Pair a classic fair isle sweater in a shrunken silhouette with a crisp white shirt and neck tie patterned silk skirt, all classically preppy pieces done in new and interesting ways.  Top the look off with a wide brimmed hat, lightweight scarf and a leather and shearling backpack to add a little edge.

Hartford Meribel Sweater, Rag & Bone Frances Shirt, Hartford Jani Skirt, Rag & Bone Wide Brim Fedora and Mini Pilot Shearling Backpack, Grisal Scarf

Sport your prepster duds with a bare leg and suede booties while the weather is still mild, then add some wooly, charcoal tights or over the knee socks once the temps dip.

Travel with Ease

Travel with Ease

Summer may be over, but that doesn't mean our travel schedule is slowing down with the arrival of Fall.  The cooler it gets, the harder it may be to plan your travel ensemble.  It's likely that the plane will ossilate between terribly stuffy and absolutely freezing, while your destination may be chilly, windy and snowy. This requires careful planning, lightweight layers and versatile pieces that you can still wear once you're off the plane.

The key is the ability to add and remove layers with ease, while looking polished, effortless and chic.  We've broken down the essentials to make your Fall travel a breeze.

Lightweight Base Layers:  Above all, while traveling, you want to be comfortable.  There's nothing worse than too tight jeans or an itchy sweater while trapped in a plane.  Skinny jeans with lots of stretch or a ponte trouser paired with a tissue tee or cotton button-down will keep you comfy, relatively wrinkle free and totally pulled together.

ATM Long Sleeve Tee, AG Legging Jean, Maison Scotch Boyfriend Shirt, Vince Ski Pant

Versatile Middle Layering Piece:  This is where a featherweight cashmere pullover, chunky knit vest or a denim jacket will come in handy.  Not only will they add warmth once the AC starts to blast, but they will be essential once you've reached your destination.

Wrap/Scarf/Poncho: An item that can act as a blanket, hat or even eye mask when the temperature drops or you just need a moment of calm on the plane and can easily be tucked away in your carry-on while rushing through the airport.

Outerwear:  Your best choice is a light as air puffer than can be squished into a ball to use as makeshift down pillow, but a double faced wool coat that can be layered for more warmth and act as a blanket will work as well.

Hartford "Visual" Coat and 'S Max Mara Gileta Reversible Quilted Vest

Carry-on Bag: A backpack or tote in leather or canvas that is big enough to fit your essentials - iPad, iPhone, headphones, magazine, makeup/toiletry bag, scarf, notepad and water bottle - and can weather spilled drinks and snacks.

Vince Signature V Bucket Bag and Rag & Bone Grayson Backpack

Delicate Accessories: The last thing you want is to be fussing with your jewelry while pulling your layers on and off.  Don't risk wearing pieces that will snag, snap or get caught on your clothes when you're removing them in a hurry at security checkpoints.  Keep them to a minimum and pack your statement pieces in your suitcase.

Happy Travels!
